Do I need a phone for every family member?
No. A phone with Nelos is only needed for people who want to message the group or view the map. A child, pet, or older relative can instead carry a small compatible tracker with no phone of their own, and still show up on the shared map.
Is Nelos a child-tracking or surveillance app?
No. Nelos is a group communication tool your whole family uses together, not a one-way monitoring system. Everyone on the team sees the same shared map, and it's built for staying together, not watching over someone in secret.
Does it work with no internet connection at all?
Yes. Messages and locations travel over your own LoRa devices, not the internet. Internet is only used for optional map downloads before your trip.
Can I see a family member's exact location at all times?
Nelos shows the last position shared over the mesh, not continuous real-time GPS tracking. How often that updates depends on your devices and settings, and on being in range of each other.
